Category A
Category A motorcycles – all motorcycles with an engine power exceeding 15 kW, and tricycles with a power exceeding 15 kW.
What is Category A?
Category A includes all motorcycles with an engine power exceeding 15 kW and tricycles with power exceeding 15 kW.
Category A driver’s license
You can obtain a Category A driver’s license from the age of 24.
Exam
The driving exam for AM, A1, A2, and A category two-wheeled vehicles is held from April 1 to October 1. (If weather conditions are favorable, CSDD may extend this period.)
CSDD may refuse to conduct the exam if weather or road conditions are unfavorable (such as heavy rain, snow, low temperature, slippery or icy roads, etc.).
During the on-road part of the exam, the inspector follows in an accompanying vehicle. The applicant must wear clothing suitable for motorcycle riders or use protective gear designed for knees, elbows, and shoulders in case of a fall, as well as gloves and closed footwear that protect the ankles.
